Dear Mental Health Services Community,

It is our pleasure to invite you to an interactive presentation and discussion on the draft Toolkit for Evaluation, Assessment, and Measurement for Community Services and Supports Programs. This event will be hosted by the UC San Diego Health Services Research Center (HSRC) in partnership with the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission (MHSOAC).

Background: From 2014 to 2016, the UC San Diego HSRC, in partnership with the MHSOAC, developed a system for tracking, monitoring, and evaluating adult Community Services and Support (CSS) programs. The Toolkit, which is under development, will include the resources necessary for California counties and programs to (1) assess the feasibility of adopting the CSS tracking, monitoring, and evaluation system for collecting and reporting evaluation data, (2) successfully implement the system, and (3) create and use evaluation reports from the system.

Toolkit Features:

ü  Assessment measures with recommendations for tracking, monitoring, and evaluating client outcomes

ü  Training materials for implementation

ü  Data entry templates and automated dashboards

ü  Guidance on analyzing and reporting results

ü  Instructions for integrating assessments into existing data collection systems

ü  Resources and information to help counties and programs decide how to customize the Toolkit materials to meet their needs

The toolkit will be free and optional for California counties and programs as part of MHSOAC’s efforts to provide additional evaluation support without adding additional requirements.
